How do I issue a press release?

02/16/2024 | by Patrick Fischer, M.Sc., Founder & Data Scientist: FDS

1. First you have to decide if you want to send your press release directly to an editorial office or if you want to publish it via a press portal or a press release service.

2. Now you have to find the right addressees for your press release. It is important that you make an effort to reach those editorial offices that specialize in your industry.

3. Once you have found the right addressees, you need to think about what you want to write in the press release. It is common to mention the name of the company and the reason for the press release in the first line.

After that, there is a brief overview of the subject of the press release. Here you should try to make the content as concise and interesting as possible.

5. After that, write the exact content of the press release, i.e. all details about the topic and why it is interesting.

6. At the end, you need to add contact details and other information that will help journalists to ask more questions and/or request more information.

7. At last you have to send the press release to the editors.

How do I place articles in the media?

03/13/2023 | by Patrick Fischer, M.Sc., Founder & Data Scientist: FDS

Placing articles in the media requires careful planning and preparation. Here are some steps you can follow to increase your chances of successful media placement:

Identify relevant media: research and identify media outlets that are relevant to your target audience. Think about what topics and content are published in these media and which journalists are responsible for these topics.

Write a press release: Write a press release that presents your topic or story in an engaging and interesting way. Make sure the press release is well structured and to the point.

Write a pitch: write a pitch that summarizes the key points of your story or topic and why it is relevant to the target media audience. The pitch should be short, concise and engaging.

Send your materials: send the press release and pitch to relevant journalists via email or a press portal. Make sure you have the journalists' email addresses correct and complete.

Follow-up: Follow-up by email or phone to make sure your materials have arrived and to motivate journalists to cover your topic.

Offer expert interviews: Offer to make yourself available to journalists for interviews to provide more information about your topic or story.

Keep in touch: Maintain good relationships with journalists by regularly offering them interesting topics and content. This will increase your chances of them covering your business in the future.

It is important to note that successful media placement is not guaranteed and that media placement also depends on factors such as the relevance of your topic or story, the quality of your materials, and your relationship with journalists.

How to create PR content for the different target groups

03/03/2023 | by Patrick Fischer, M.Sc., Founder & Data Scientist: FDS

1. Identify your target audience: Before you start, you need to find out who your target audience is. To do this, you may need to conduct market research and segment your target audience based on various criteria. This segmentation can be by age, gender, occupation, income and other factors.

2. Design a messaging strategy: after you know who your target audience is, you need to figure out what messages you want to communicate. To do this, you need to determine a clear focus and decide what content you want to target using PR tools.

3. Create PR content: After you are clear about your messaging strategy, you need to create the content you want to publish. This can be press releases, blog posts, videos, infographics, images or other types of content.

4. Make sure the content is tailored to the target audience: After you create the content, you need to make sure that it is tailored to your target audience. The content should be relevant, informative and entertaining for the target audience.

5. Publish the content: After you have created the content, you need to publish it through the right channels to reach the target audience. This can include social media platforms, press portals or even your own website.

6. Measure the results: After the content is published, you need to take the time to measure the results. This can be the number of clicks, likes or shares your content receives. This way you can see if your PR campaign was successful.

Which platforms are best for press release distribution?

02/27/2023 | by Patrick Fischer, M.Sc., Founder & Data Scientist: FDS
Social media such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn are best suited for disseminating press releases, as they have a wide reach and it is easy to send messages to a wide audience. In addition, press releases can also be published on special press portals to which many journalists and editors subscribe. These platforms also offer additional opportunities to distribute press releases on other platforms, e.g., through email marketing or PR tools.
