What is Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)?

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) refers to a form of artificial intelligence that has the capability to perform a wide range of cognitive tasks typically associated with human intelligence. In contrast to specialized AI systems designed for specific tasks (such as image recognition or language processing), AGI aims to handle a variety of tasks while achieving a level of cognitive versatility similar to the human mind.

AGI would possess the ability to be flexible and adaptive, comprehend complex problems, think creatively, understand and produce natural language, and navigate diverse environments without specialized adjustments. It essentially represents an advanced form of AI that goes beyond the narrow applications we currently observe in machines.
